Plant Operator


Plant operators help to operate or manage the operation of machinery. The role requires knowledge of a series of different procedures and the equipment involved, as day-to-day operations involve a varied range of duties in relation to the receival of grain, loading of transport and the out-turning of grain through export. 


  • Check the operation of equipment via instrumentation, visually, through gauges and instruments or through computer operated monitoring equipment
  • Control the operation of plant equipment and processes by responding to information obtained from instrument gauges or visual inspections in the field, and from computer based monitoring systems
  • Prepare shift operation logs and shift handover reports
